Reptiles of the Mind.
'The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind.'
— William Blake
How does it feel when someone takes over your personality and psyche?
He was, in fact, not one, but two. First one was mostly silent. Second one was fierce, hyperactive at nights.
They thought there was only one. As usual they were wrong about things, wrong as always as they are while interpreting things. The truth is that these Two are always together. They complete each other. Creating a balance with reality. Always careful of losing their way.
He was on a quest that night. A quest for truth. He thought he could handle the subconscious realm of mind but reality was quite grasping. He was absorbed in the situation, like a soul trapped in a body. When a soul is trapped in a body, the only way out for it is through death. I am saying trapped because once a soul receives enlightenment, it won’t need a body. However, through knowledge it can use a body to perform an act but enlightenment doesn't comes as a easy pie.
Ignorant and unenlightened souls can take a large number of lifetimes just to make a little jump (a quantum leap) in the field of consciousness. It is also because there are dark evil entities that resonate on low frequencies and are afraid of light. They have made the mind of human their home and they keep him from realizing his true potential. These evil beings keep humans in the darkness and keep sucking their energies life after life and generation after generation.
He was only interested in getting out of that reality, he was in. He also, almost, made up his mind to end his life. Fear of death is life in itself. He thought ending his life could free his soul, but he was already trapped inside the matrix and his quest was for the only substance that was driving him towards the search for the simplest truth. Truth as simple as 1+1=2.
Now, he was trapped in his mind.
If we could equate his quest with a hunger, it would be easy to comprehend the situation. It was the hunger of his soul to feed from the ultimate truths of existence. Who was he without the body? What was his mind made of? What does his soul seek? This quest (hunger) needs to be satisfied. It would lead him to any limits. He was desperate to know the answer.
Only after he learnt that he was a Zero (a nothing) that contained an infinity in itself, he was able to get some relief. He was nothing and yet everything. In that sense, he was one with the universe and there were infinite reflections of his soul.
He was the One, transcendent source of everything, splitted into Two, by the psyche. Only after this truth became as obvious as 1+1=2, he was able to explore the mysteries of existence.
The reptiles of his mind were finally striding back to the darkest recess of his psyche, where they had come from.
